I’m Giulia.
I’m an illustrator based in Florence, the city where I was born and raised.

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was endlessly fascinated by shapes, colors, and the stories hidden in the smallest details.

I studied Fine Arts at the Martenot Institute, where I trained in Francesca Del Panta’s atelier, before specializing in Graphic Design, Illustration, and Animation at Nemo Academy. Those years gave me the opportunity to learn from inspiring teachers who encouraged me to observe closely, experiment freely, and develop my own visual voice.

My illustrations combine traditional media like pencil, watercolor, and ink with digital techniques. I love building images layer by layer, playing with textures, expressive characters, and little details that invite people to look a bit longer. Nature, childhood memories, and everyday moments are constant sources of inspiration, and I’m happiest when I can turn something ordinary into a small visual adventure.

 

Today I work mainly in children’s publishing. I believe children’s books have a unique ability to make readers feel seen while opening the door to new worlds, and that’s the kind of storytelling I always hope to create.

When I’m not drawing, you’ll probably find me wandering through Florence, browsing second-hand bookstores in search of forgotten treasures, or out for a walk with my energetic Jack Russell, Pixel, who is equal parts studio assistant, adventure companion, and occasional muse. Every new project is an opportunity to learn something, tell a meaningful story, and create images that children can return to again and again, always discovering something new.
